Добро пожаловать в ад, Ирума! / Mairimashita! Iruma-kun
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun (англ. «Welcome to demon school, Iruma-kun!», рус.

Opera (オペラ) is a security demon working under Lord Sullivan as well as with Iruma Suzuki. They are often seen preparing and escorting Iruma for school, assisting Lord Sullivan in his work. Opera also lives in the same house in Sullivan’s mansion with Iruma, and manages the laundry, cooking, timetabling and transport for the two of them.
Opera has a master-servant relationship with Sullivan as he relies heavily on Opera’s abilities and advice to keep him on track and away from distractions. As a security devil, their main priority is to protect their master’s life. In addition, Opera is also responsible for protecting Sullivan’s status, appearance, and reputation, as well as in any support as they can. [2] After the events of the Akudol Games, Opera accepts their will as Iruma’s servant as well.
Opera’s rank is currently unknown. Humorously, Opera was Kalego’s upperclassman during their tenure at Babyls as students and is the only person who Kalego genuinely seems to fear.

Appearance
Opera has red hair with a straight cut fringe and a short plait. They have a pair of red, cat-like hairs protruding from their hair, in addition to the second, elf-like pointed ears they possess. They have red eyes, small thick black eyebrows, and a pale complexion. They also have a black, cat-like tail.
They often wear formal attire, particularly a red vest over a white shirt and a striped red and white tie, and navy dress pants.
Opera is androgynous in appearance, with delicate features, slight stature, and a plait but a masculine dress sense, and no otherwise overly feminine features.
Personality
Opera has a serious, down-to-earth personality. They often act as a voice of reason for Lord Sullivan, but are usually ignored. They are mostly reserved with their opinion, but will voice the occasional concern or cynical remark, and will sometimes dispense helpful advice.
Their interactions with Naberius Kalego reveal that they have a somewhat more mischievous and sadistic side not normally shown in their professional behavior, which was especially prominent when they were students at Babyls.
History
Not much is known about Opera’s life prior to their enrollment in Babyls Demon School, and in between their graduation to that school and employment to Lord Sullivan.
During Opera’s time at Babyls however, Opera had an alias of Mysterious Top Dog of Babyls who is popularly known (although identity-wise, not) to be very violent and brutal towards a second year and third-year students in the school, and beat them up respectively. Kalego was not a huge fan of the name initially as he is often targeted instead because of the same features he had like Opera’s, describing the title of a top dog.
Over time, they befriended Kalego, a fellow first-year student, (and in extension, Balam) whom they often teased and bullied.
Story Overview
Babyls Enrollment Arc
Opera is introduced as the competent servant of Lord Sullivan. They are often seen assisting Sullivan with his work, preparing Iruma for school, and taking care of chores. While they are shown to have a close relationship with Sullivan, they seem concerned over his decision to adopt a human grandson. [3]
Cannonball Execution Arc
Opera asks Iruma if he wishes to return to the human world. Iruma is unable to answer the question so Opera explains that, with a high rank, it’s still possible to travel to the human world. [4] Eventually, Iruma decides that he wants to raise his rank.
With instructions from Sullivan, Opera helps Iruma train for the Execution Canonball, an activity in which freshmen can rank up. Opera is revealed to have impressive strength, speed, and precision much to Iruma’s shock. Their strict training focuses on helping Iruma catch a ball. This proves to be a challenge due to Iruma’s overwhelming crisis evasion capability causing him to automatically dodge every ball thrown at him. [5]
Over the course of their training, Opera and Iruma begin to understand each other better. Iruma expresses that he can recognize when Opera is in a good or bad mood depending on what position their kitty ears are in. [6]
After winning the Execution Canonball and being promoted to Beth (2), Iruma ecstatically thanks Opera for their help. They appear to be happy about this but also somewhat embarrassed. From this point on, the two get along better. Opera shows much more confidence in Iruma unlike before. [7]
Division Party Arc
Once the Division Party officially begins, Opera and Sullivan come to spend time with Iruma as a family. With their adept skills, Opera embarks on a winning streak across many different games and attractions set up by various Divisions. Later, Iruma reveals how much he appreciates the two coming to visit him and exclaims that they’re a wonderful family. [8]
Royal One Acquisition Arc
Opera and Sullivan welcome Iruma home after he comes back from the student council. They are happy that Iruma has finally returned. The next day, however, Iruma’s personality has completely changed and he has seemingly entered his Evil Cycle. Opera is so shocked that they drop their dishes onto the floor. They wonder what could have happened to him. [9]
Along with Sullivan, they are very relieved after Iruma’s personality returns back to normal. [10]
First Term Final Exams Arc
When Naberius Kalego pays Iruma’s mansion a home visit, it’s revealed that Opera was once his classmate and they’re close friends. Opera teases Kalego and bosses him around, although it’s all in good nature. [11]
Walter Park Arc
Opera, Kalego, and Balam are entrusted by Sullivan to act as chaperones for Iruma and his friends in Walter Park. When the Panther Rat appears, Opera shields Ix Elizabetta, Crocell Kerori, Azazel Ameri, and Valac Clara from its attack. They are able to stop the demonic beast in its tracks just by grabbing its claw. They tell the students to run away and exclaim that protecting those important to Iruma is also their duty. After the children retreat, Opera launches their counterattack, demonstrating their incredible strength and agility. They leap onto one of the beast’s tails and deliver a devastating kick to its face. They’re so focused on attacking, however, that they’re caught off guard by the beast’s other tails.
Ameri protects Opera from a hit and explains that, as the student council president, she could not turn her back on a moment of crisis. This amuses Opera. The two decide to team up to fight the Panther Rat, that is, until they notice that Clara returned as well and is dangling from one of the rat’s tails. [12]
Ameri aims to fight the rat alone and asks Opera to rescue Clara. She pinpoints the weak spot of the Panther Rat and defends against another one of its blows. Opera is impressed by her reflexes and the control she has over her magic. After rescuing Clara, they continue to observe Ameri’s fight from a distance.
After Ameri defeats the Panther Rat on her own, Opera praises Ameri and expresses that she has plenty of room to grow stronger. With piqued interest, they ask Ameri if she would like to work with them as an assistant after her graduation. While Ameri initially declines, she’s then realizes that being an assistant would mean she would live with Iruma just like Opera. While extremely flustered, she takes back her rejection and says she will think about it again, much to Opera’s confusion. [13]
Opera and Ameri appear to Iruma’s side during the fight against the merged demonic beast. Opera expresses that they were able to get there because they followed the scent of Iruma’s perfume. Balam asks Opera to team up with him. Opera presents a summoning seal to Iruma, with the intention of getting him to summon Kalego to join them. [14]
Once Kalego is summoned, both Opera and Balam can’t help but pet him. Everyone eagerly awaits to see what the three high-ranking demons’ battle would look like. Everyone is utterly shocked when the three defeat it in just a single combined hit. However, the Six Fingers cause the defeated demonic beast to turn into a magical bomb. Iruma is able to consume all of the magic and save everyone thanks to his Ring of Gluttony.
Opera reflects on how they often wondered why Sullivan choose to bring Iruma to the demon world. Now, they feel like they understand his decision. [15]
Abilities
Super Strength: Opera has a great set of arms that are capable to eliminate targets with ease. They were able to destroy the hardest target without any problem and carrying a boulder to strike at the bowling game one point during the Divison Party. [16]
Extreme Precision: Opera has a keen sense of eyesight as they seen able to shoot the middle of the target multiple times splitting their own arrows in half. [17]
Fast Reflexes: Opera is shown to have the ability to maintain a quick movement in distances for a short period of time, as well as being able to jump from one place to another smoothly. Opera is even capable of doing this even if they carry someone with them. [18]
Relationships
Lord Sullivan
As the demon Opera works under, Opera is very loyal to him. He relies heavily on Opera’s abilities. He also trusts them deeply, seeing as they know that illegally entered the human world and brought a human into the demon world. Opera sometimes worries about him and the decisions he makes.
Suzuki Iruma
As the human that Sullivan adopted as his grandson, Opera protects and cares for him. Initially, they were wary of Iruma’s ability to adapt to the demon world. They were unsure why Sullivan choose Iruma in particular. Over time, however, the two eventually became close enough to consider each other family. Now, Opera shows much more confidence and respect for Iruma. They care a lot about Iruma, wanting to protect him and the people he cares about, and will also get angry at those who talk badly about him. While they can be strict at times, they are often doting on him and want to do whatever they feel is best for him.
Naberius Kalego
Opera was Kalego’s upperclassman when they attended Babyls. At the time, Opera would bully Kalego by making him buy bread for them and carry their stuff. [19] Despite their past, Opera claims that they were and still are close friends. When the two are together, they drop their usual composure around each other. Opera becomes much more mischievous and Kalego becomes surprisingly timid. Opera likes to affectionately tease him and boss him around. In response, Kalego either gets intimidated or riled up.
Balam Shichiro
Like Kalego, Opera was also Balam’s upperclassman when they were students. Unlike their relationship with Kalego, Opera and Balam act much more mature together.
Balam Shichiro is one of the staff of Babyls Demon School. He was first introduced subbing for Dali in Demonic History due to his Evil Cycle. He is also the head of the Imaginary Things Research Division.
Contents
Appearance
Shichiro is a giant and muscular demon, towering over even the tall Naberius Kalego. He has bird-like legs from his knees down at least, and long hair.
He wears a dark tank top, light-colored pants, leather gloves, and a mask over his mouth and nose, covering an injury that exposes the left side of his jaw and fangs.
In Chapter 66, he cuts his hair off into a buzz-cut, claiming it scared the students and he didn’t want them to be more afraid of him than they already were.
In Chapter 182, his hair grows back, but it is not as long as before, reaching only his neck and covering his ears, his hairstyle is very similar to the one he used when he was a child and when he was a student.
Personality
Balam Shichiro is generally feared by many students because of his intimidating appearance and tendency to impulsively pet and touch other living beings, including the students he teaches. It gets to the point that he has to immobilize his students to prevent them from running from the lectures. The students also rumor that he abducts students he likes to experiment on them, but these were baseless assertions.
Despite his terrifying appearance, Shichiro is very kind and gentle, treating every living thing with compassion as well as curiosity. He is also extremely fascinated by the human world and the supposedly mythical creatures he believes exist there, even though everyone around him considered them myths. He gets very excited about the subjects he is passionate about, becoming elated when he learned humans do exist.
Because of the attitude of the people around him, Shichiro seems to harbor some insecurity about his impression. Meeting Iruma has encouraged him to interact more with other people, and he became a close instructor to the students of the Abnormal class. He also seems to worry that he had little authority as a teacher (compared to his friend), since his students repeatedly ignored or dismissed his orders.
He is also extremely protective. Upon discovering Iruma was a human living in the Demon World, he scolded the boy for being so careless, and ranted to him for hours about all the dangers he could get into and how to avoid them. He also continues to check up on Iruma thereafter, making sure the boy was staying out of trouble and ensuring that no one else had found out his secret.
Shichiro also has the habit of lecturing students for hours on end, either out of passion or concern for their wellbeing. He did this to Iruma upon first discovering his secret, and then to Asmodeus Alice to scold him for misusing the induced Evil Cycle in the Harvest Festival.
History
When he was a child, he got a scar on his face after he was abducted by a bird monster. After spending a night hiding in the nest, he tried to eat the eggs there with him, only for the angry mother bird monster to return and scar his face. His parents arrived in the nick of time to save him. Shichiro says that this event was when he recognized the beauty in living things.
He was in the same year as Naberius Kalego when they attended Babyls. Kalego was the only student who approached Shichiro, undeterred by the boy’s appearance and eccentricity. They got along quickly after. Same with Kalego, he was also roped into being Opera’s «underling».
With his wealth of knowledge about biology and plants, Shichiro was the victor of his year’s Harvest Festival, making optimal use of his wildlife understanding while avoiding direct confrontations with other students. He scored 58,000 points.
Sometime after graduating, he became a teacher at Babyls Demon School. He proctors the students’ exams with his bloodline ability as well as his personal magic, making it impossible for any cheating to go through without being discovered. Because of his eccentric behaviors and intimidating presence, many students of Babyls were wary of him, spreading rumors such as that he abducted students for experiments.
Synopsis
First Term Final Exams Arc
He brings Iruma to the Teacher’s Lounge and reveals that Iruma doesn’t have any wings, but when they try to see for themselves, he sees a small pair which unbeknownst to him, was created by Arikured to protect Iruma. As they walk back to the classroom, Shichiro, feeling guilty about exposing Iruma’s supposed malformity, takes off his mask and shows Iruma his own scarred face. While putting it back on, he confesses that he loves living things but because they run from him out of fear, he tries to touch them as much as he can, which is what led to him developing his skinship habit. When Iruma asks why he would tell him this, Shichiro tells Iruma that it is because he didn’t want him to feel bad about getting his ‘wings’ exposed.
After Shichiro brings Iruma to his office and prepares some tea for Iruma, Iruma, having been touched by Shichiro’s level of kindness, accidentally reveals to him that he is human. [2] After confirming his confession, Shichiro falls out of his chair and backs up from him, fearing that he won’t be able to hold himself back from touching him. As he giddies from knowing that humans are real and that his earlier suspicions were correct, Iruma asks if he plans on eating him. Shichiro replies that he considers Iruma an endangered species so he won’t, preferring to touch him yet resisting the urge. When Iruma touches him himself, Shichiro backs up again and proceeds to give Iruma a long and hard lecture about keeping his identity safe from others.
The next day, he stops by Royal One where he greets Kalego casually, revealing to the class that they were classmates and alumni of Babyls. Shichiro explains to Iruma that he wanted to check up on him and he saw how much he is struggling with the test, so he wanted to help him. [3] As it turns out, his method of helping was making picture books for him to better help him understand the lessons, and he becomes delighted when Iruma shows enjoyment in reading them, compared to the students who run from them mistaking them for experiment notes.
While showing him another book, he asks Iruma how his studies are going, and he says that he is improving and feels like he is bettering himself, causing Shichiro to start taking notes, calling Iruma interesting to observe. [4]
Shichiro later encounters Iruma as he was on his way to find him to tell him that he passed, where he also notices that Shichiro chose to cut his long hair short. He celebrates Iruma’s victory before pulling a Salamander Flower out on him to test him to see how much he has learned in order to protect himself in the future, and he was very pleased by the results. He tells Iruma that learning by influencing and improving each other is a privilege of living beings, and now he wants to not only approach others, but let others approach him, which is why he cut his hair short, and he thanks Iruma for that.
Later, he meets up with Kalego, who tries to repress his urge to laugh which Shichiro takes note of. He admits he is happy to see that he is more confident and reveals that he has the same rank as himself while also possessing the unique Bloodline Magic «Buzzer», which is the reason people who try to cheat get easily caught because administers it throughout the entire school. When Kalego says that there is no one he can manage, Shichiro says that there is one he could not predict, and it reinvigorated his love of living things. [5]
Walter Park Arc
Shichiro becomes one of the three ordered by Sullivan to act as chaperones for Iruma and his friends at Walter Park, the other two being Kalego and Opera, and unlike Kalego, Shichiro felt it would be fun. [6] When everyone enters the park, he reminds the class that they can’t just go off on their own without a chaperone and he suggests everyone splits up into three groups. He also supports the class’ competition to see which group can have the most fun. After drawing straws, Shichiro’s group consists of Iruma, Alice, Sabnock Sabro, and Agares Picero. After the group come across Ronove Lomiere, he asks him to help them have the most fun as part of their competition. [7]
While Shichiro enjoys himself by touching various things, [8] he later becomes concerned when he realizes Iruma got separated from them, though he is able to find him alongside Alice and Sabro. [9] As he watches Iruma partake in a play about Six Fingers, the real Six Finger’s put their plan into action and summon three enormous beasts throughout the park, [10] with his group encountering the Carmine Dragon.
Abilities
Balam is at rank 8 (Khet), among the highest-ranked demons currently known.
Buzzer (Chimes of Deception)— His Bloodline Magic. He is able to detect lies or do wrongdoings of the target by just observing them. His ability is used to identify any cheaters on exam day, making sure no student can cheat on the test without being discovered and punished.
Relationships
Iruma Suzuki- Shichiro was excited to discover that Iruma was a human. However, he was very concerned for him due to his lack of knowledge in the Demon World and the danger that lurks beyond the school. He provided the help that Iruma needed to pass his final exam, and was proud of him when succeeded in doing so.
Naberius Kalego- They were in the same class at Babylus Demon School as students. They are very good friends to the point that they are on a first-name basis. Due to his love of cute things though, he can’t resist touching Kalego in his Familiar form, constantly mentioning how fluffy he is while Kalego tries to calm him down.
